As I step for my photoshoot through the weighty wooden doors of Raffles London at The OWO, a profound sense of wonder washes over me, transporting me to a realm of history and opulence.
I am in awe…! A place where history, luxury, and imagination converge. This hallowed space once hosted Britain’s most esteemed statesmen and spies, from Lord Haldane to Winston Churchill. Ian Fleming, the mastermind behind James Bond, drew inspiration from these very walls, with many of those cool Bond films capturing scenes within. Now, meticulously restored by countless skilled artisans, this Grade II* Edwardian Baroque gem stands as Raffles‘ inaugural London hotel and a modern haven of elegance and refinement. The overwhelming grand staircase, the former library of the Old War Office, now the lovely restaurant Saison inviting guests to indulge in all-day Mediterranean dining, a Michelin-starred culinary experience, and serene spa area, every corner is an adventure waiting to unfold. Endless corridors lead to heavenly suites like The Raffles, a historic one-bedroom suite designed by Thierry Despont , The Churchill, The Granville or The Haldane Suite, evoking dreams only Cinderella could fathom.
And who knows, perhaps my own fairy tale moment is just around the corner..!
