killiehuntly farmhouse and cottages wildland scotland

In the rugged heart of the Scottish Highlands, Wildland is quietly rewriting the story of the land. This visionary conservation project spans over 200 years—a bold, generational commitment by Anders and Anne Holch Povlsen to rewilding vast stretches of Scotland’s natural wilderness. Forests are being restored, native species reintroduced, and ancient landscapes healed for future generations. After a 18 hour journey by ferry and car Lucie and me arrived in the Highlands!  We are greeted by wind, rain and splashes of sunlight, eager to discover and photograph Killiehuntly Farmhouse and Cottages, a beautifully restored 19th-century home nestled in the Cairngorms. Blending Scandinavian design with Highland heritage, it offers a luxurious, grounding escape amid sweeping moorlands and reawakening wilds. More than a place to stay, Killiehuntly is a window into a deeper, more hopeful relationship with nature—where hospitality meets legacy.
