The artistic work of the trained carpenter and film-director Fritz Baumann is expressed in award-winning films and unique works in wood. Fritz Baumann’s sculptured seats are expressive studies of nature. The strength of the material makes the encounter with each piece a sensual experience. His stools and benches are created in a reduced style showing Japanese influence. Fritz Baumann’s favourite wood is oak. He always uses green, uncured tree trunks, which he inspects to find the optimal form of the stool, which he then extracts with the chainsaw.
His current collection unites archaic forms with a modern interpretation of the oldest furniture of mankind.
