Before I was escorted into the magic of Grand Hotel Tremezzo for my photoshoot I wanted to make a stop in Como—drawn to something new, yet already steeped in history. CASA BIANCA COMO.
Set within a storied lakeside building, this latest creation by the De Santis family feels like a quiet unveiling of something deeply personal. Inside, their remarkable private art collection finds a new home—each room unfolding like a dialogue between past and present, intimacy and grandeur. The space is conceived as a second home for the collectors, Paolo and Antonella, where Rationalist architecture meets contemporary art in a way that feels both intentional and deeply lived-in. And then.. the pasticcheria..! CASA BIANCA COMO brings the traditional, chic Milanese allure of the iconic Pasticceria Cova to Lago di Como … oh… the pastries…every creation almost too exquisite to eat… almost…! while preserving its original charm and seamlessly integrating modern art and refined local materials. One of the most striking moments is a large, site-specific floral installation by artist Francesco Simeti enveloping three walls in one of the main rooms—immersive and so very poetic!
I took these photographs and stayed .. just a little longer than planned. If this is the prelude, the De Santis family is telling a story worth following.
